Privacy Policy
This policy describes the Presscribe Windows application and website.
Local by default
Presscribe can process your audio and generate transcripts locally on your computer. Local Whisper is the default transcription mode. Presscribe does not send your recordings or transcripts to any Presscribe servers.
Optional Groq transcription
If you choose Groq mode and add your own Groq API key, Presscribe sends recorded audio to Groq for transcription. You can switch back to local transcription or clear the key from Preferences.
Activity history
Presscribe keeps a local activity summary and your five most recent transcriptions so you can copy them again from Preferences. You can clear this history from the Activity tab.
Logs (optional, local)
If something goes wrong, you can enable and view logs to help figure out what happened. Logs are created and stored locally on your device, and nothing is automatically sent anywhere.
Model downloads
Local transcription may download speech-to-text model files. Once downloaded, these models are stored locally and used locally.
Website and download analytics
The Presscribe website uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymized, cookie-free page view statistics. Download links may route through the Presscribe website before sending you to GitHub so download starts and broad source labels can be counted. This does not collect recordings, transcripts, clipboard contents, Groq API keys, or app settings.
